Itinerary

Start your Star Wars tour in Tunisia by stepping into the ancient city of Kairouan, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Wander through the historic Medina and visit the Great Mosque, an iconic symbol of Islamic architecture. After lunch, continue through Tunisia’s scenic landscapes toward Tozeur, an oasis town famous for its palm groves and desert charm, where you’ll settle in for the night.

Venture into the rugged beauty of Chebika and Tamerza on a thrilling 4WD safari, discovering hidden mountain oases. Then, set off for Ong Jemal, where the vast desert becomes the backdrop for the Star Wars universe. At Mos Espa, walk through the bustling pod-racing arena, a key scene from The Phantom Menace, and relive the moment when Anakin’s journey began.

Cross the stunning Chott El Jerid salt flats, where Luke Skywalker’s home planet of Tatooine came to life, before arriving in Douz for a sunset camel ride or ATV adventure in the dunes. Your day ends with a magical evening under the stars at a desert camp.

Today, journey to Matmata, home to the iconic Lars Moisture Farm, where Luke Skywalker spent his early days on Tatooine. Explore the unique troglodyte homes carved into the ground, featured in several Star Wars scenes. After lunch, head to Ksar Hadada, used as the Slave Quarters Row in The Phantom Menace.

You’ll also visit Ksar Ouled Soltane, another key filming location, before reaching the breathtaking Berber village of Chenini. Nestled in the mountains, this village will be your overnight retreat, offering unforgettable views and a peaceful night.

Begin your day with a drive to El Jem, where the grandeur of the Roman amphitheater will leave you in awe. This massive structure, one of the best-preserved in the world, served as a dramatic backdrop for both history and film. After exploring the amphitheater, head to Sousse, a coastal gem where you can enjoy the beach or explore the lively medina before spending the night here.

Your final day starts with a visit to the Ribat of Sousse, a fortress that stands guard over the Mediterranean, offering a fascinating glimpse into Tunisia’s ancient past. From here, travel to Zriba Olia, a peaceful Berber village nestled in the mountains, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Tunisian lunch.

Afterwards, head to Hammamet, known for its vibrant medina and beautiful coastal views. Explore the medina’s winding alleys and rich history before returning to Tunis, where your epic Star Wars tour of Tunisia comes to a close.

Another exciting adventure with Exodus

Another exciting adventure with this tour company. Our trip was at the end of April/beginning of May and it was very hot !!!! I'm told June/July is even hotter. Phew !!!!Despite this I loved every minute of it.It was a very busy trip but extremely well organised. I very much liked the additional drink stops as it was so very hot. Home made chilled lime was just the thing. I also very much liked Lam pre-booking the meals and us all going together. He found some wonderful places and we had delicious fresh food. There just isn't time to find somewhere yourself. This really worked well.We were lucky to be with a super group of people. Everyone happy and smiling and enjoying every moment..................well................except a few of the group who did get a bit sore. Please do get yourself some chamois butter and padded pants. It works a treat. It worked well having all the cycling in the beginning. The train was much better than I had expected and I slept like a log !!! Whale Island and Halong Bay were real treats and I would have loved more time there. But, overall, the trip was perfect for timing as it kept us within the 15 day Visa limit and we saw and did so much.Despite being informed in writing by the tour operator that our big holdalls/suitcase stays with us all the time......this was not the case. You do need to have a rucksack or flat pack bag big enough for the one and two night stays (Whale Island and Halong Bay). In fact......it works very well to just take small luggage. Much easier to do once you get your head around it.I found the cycling easy compared with other trips I've done but I do feel it is right to be called a Level 3. Everyone cycles slightly differently and there is always a bit of a mix of abilities........which makes for a good group cycle I think.

Good 'ole Exodus!

An interesting blend of Vietnam from north to south including an o/n sleeper train. The success and enjoyment of these trips is usually down to the blend of fellow travellers and team leader and this one was no different. The weather, early season, was mixed with a little more rain and cloud than hoped for but did not detract from the enjoyment but a little more sunshine would have enhanced the countryside. A read of the brochure and trip notes will give a very accurate picture of the breadth and variety of the trip. The daily riding distances are mainly governed by the fitness of the participants and their ability to cover the miles in a reasonable time and for the first time in my experience of 7 trips we were delayed by some participants who frankly were not cycling fit and I wonder if they had read and understood the pre - trip advice!

Excellent, probably the best yet.

This was an amazing trip. Totally fell in love with Vietnam, We did so much in such in two weeks. The cycling, somehow. only felt like a small part of the experience as there were so many other things that we did. Each day was full on, exceptionally well organised, great food, etc Been on a few cycle trips, and I think this was the best one so far.
