Enjoy a 70-minute tour of America’s oldest university. On the tour you’ll embark on an entertaining journey through Harvard Yard with a current student. Enjoy tales of Harvard’s history and culture as you see famous landmarks and monuments.
Begin your tour to Tunisia’s Berber villages with a visit to the monumental El Jem amphitheater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the largest Roman monument in Africa. Continue to Matmata, known for its underground troglodyte dwellings. After lunch at the Sidi Driss Hotel, featured in Star Wars, visit local families to experience Berber hospitality. In the late afternoon, head to Tataouine, an ancient Berber village nestled in the mountains, where you’ll settle in for dinner and an overnight stay in a traditional setting.
After breakfast, visit Douiret and then drive to Chenini, a hilltop village overlooked by a ksar, or fortified granary. Explore Chenini’s mosque of the Seven Sleepers and its remarkable architecture. Continue to Toujane for a hosted lunch at a Berber family’s home, followed by a visit to the village. In the afternoon, arrive in Douz, the gateway to the Sahara, where you can opt for a camel ride in the dunes. End the day with dinner and an overnight stay in a desert camp.
Travel across the Chott El Jerid salt flats to Tozeur, known for its vast date palm groves. Upon arrival, enjoy an optional carriage ride through the oasis and experience a date tasting session. After lunch at a local oasis, embark on a 4WD adventure to the mountain oases of Chebika and Tamerza, where natural springs and waterfalls create stunning desert landscapes. Visit Ong Jemal, another Star Wars filming site, before returning to Tozeur for dinner and an overnight stay.
On the final day, drive to Kairouan, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Islam’s holiest cities. Explore the Great Mosque, Aghlabid Basins, and the Medina, known for its vibrant handicrafts and historic architecture. After lunch, return to Tunis, concluding your Tunisian Berber village adventure.

This tour is available year-round and offers a unique experience in each season. However, please note that desert camps are unavailable from June to September due to high temperatures in the Sahara.
